“On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, I give my stay an 8.”

I was a bit worried about driving between Sparta and West Salem because I didn’t know the travel time from my research, but the drive to the wedding venue was not horrible. I liked that the hotel was right on the corner, and the owner—who I assume was him—was very kind and personable. Despite its unassuming exterior, it served its purpose; it wasn’t the Ritz‑Carlton by any means, but it was a good place, and if I travel through the area again and just need a quick place to crash, I would use it. The pictures didn’t exactly match the reality, but it was clean and served its purpose; the only issue was the lack of a continental breakfast.

The rooms were updated, affordable, and the sheets were very soft, plus the place stayed very clean. One of the two windows in our room had blinds but no curtain, so the blinds didn’t give full privacy when we looked from outside. Also, people were smoking outside their rooms, just around the corner from ours, and the building felt like a strip motel with private entrances to each room. The smell didn’t seep into our room, but it made me feel less safe walking to my car. The property wasn’t at fault— the train came late at night several times and was pretty loud.

“Comfortable, clean, very reasonably priced, great location & attentive staff.”

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the price was very reasonable. The staff were exceptionally attentive, making sure everything was pleasant. The location was ideal, within driving distance of four area bicycle trails. We would definitely stay again.
