Overall I liked it. The exterior has a neglected and untidy look. The outdoor pool loungers are very sun‑burnt and have a greasy appearance.

The location was great, but the building felt old and worn, though it was still tidy. Breakfast was dull, missing eggs, spreads, fruit and vegetables.

Breakfast had good options, the pool was large, the play area was good, the room was clean and spacious. The reception girl and breakfast staff were very helpful.

While heading to Algarve, our car was hit by a truck near Santiago, and we were relieved to find safe refuge at Quinta de Malmedra. The owner and staff were very kind, letting us keep the damaged car in the parking until it could be removed. I saw a review about a vandalised car in the lot, which turned out to be mine and was taken away after a few days. I’m grateful for the owner’s empathy and the staff’s support during that tough moment. My overall experience was very positive.
