From the moment we pulled up the short dirt road, Idalina and her daughter Bianca greeted us like old friends, and the chalet itself looked brand‑new—spotless, fresh‑scented, and fully stocked with everything from a well‑equipped kitchen to warm blankets and a TV ready for Netflix. The spring water from the tap was crystal‑clear and surprisingly cold, perfect for the chilly weather, and the nearby town offered plenty of snack stalls and good restaurants.

The location is superb, with stunning views, total peace, and the hosts—especially Dona Idalina—were incredibly helpful. I’d also suggest checking out nearby spots like Visconde de Mauá and the Itatiaia National Park, though keep in mind those attractions are a bit of a drive away.
