“A wonderful onset stay at a resort that offers quality traditional service”

The staff were incredible, answering every question and accommodating every request. The hot spring baths, especially the outdoor ones, were delightful, and the private dining and private spa extras were worth the reasonable extra cost. The large, comfortable Japanese‑style rooms with mats, futon beds, and low furniture were very cozy. The only downside was that the rooms and common spaces hadn’t been renovated in a while, but that didn’t really affect my experience.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The staff were terribly kind and helpful. The onsen was relaxing and the food there was also very good. Nothing to complain about.

Everything about it was great. The onsens were fantastic, and the private spa was also excellent. The futons were very comfortable, and the food was interesting and tasty. The only issue was that the AC in the room wasn’t enough; it was a sunny day, the room was too hot, and the AC wasn’t that fresh.

“Beautiful and comfortable ryokan for a wonderful stay, with an unmissable onsen experience. Perfect after a hectic time”

The traditional room was lovely, with a stunning view and plenty of light. The staff were welcoming, and I loved the matcha in the lounge. Both onsens were amazing – our first experience, and we enjoyed them both. Getting here was easy: a fast train from Tokyo to Nagano and one switch to a regional train. The only problem wasn’t the property; it was our ability to finish all the extensive meals – we couldn’t give every course its full justice.

The dinner and breakfast in the accommodation package were excellent, and the large Japanese‑style two‑room suite was very friendly and attentive. The main spa is worth experiencing. If you want exercise, you can hop to Snow Monkey Park in an hour. The only downside is that the age of the hotel shows in this large building, but everything is still very clean. The price felt a bit high compared to the overall experience.
