The hotel is a stone's throw from the train station, which was handy. But the bed was rock hard and I struggled to find the building at night. Breakfast options were pretty limited, too.

We stayed at Novo Hotel Chongqing over Labour Day when prices were sky‑high, and the RM224 a night was a bargain. The hotel sits between the city centre and the airport, just a short walk to a subway stop, train station, and a bunch of local eateries, and the room was clean, king‑size, and fully equipped like a 3‑star place.

The room was spacious, spotless, and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The only downside was that the location was a little hard to find.

Breakfast was simple but tasty – sandwiches and noodles hit the spot. The front desk manager was excellent and the hotel sits right across from the metro and a train station, with plenty of local restaurants nearby. The room was clean and comfortable, but the bed was too soft for my taste – I usually like a very firm mattress.

The hotel was decent and right next to the metro, making it easy to get around.
