This place is fantastic, close to Gjirokaster, Libohova, the Monastery, Antigonea, Cajupi Valley, and more. Asim Zenel village is a wonderful place to stay, and Vila Shametaj feels more like a family business than a hotel – they put effort into everything for you. Cleanliness is exceptional, and everything on the table comes fresh from their garden. Grandma, a remarkably strong woman, tends the garden. We enjoyed our stay more than being in Gjirokaster itself. On the last day the owner kindly gave us a ride to the bus station in Gjirokaster. We arrived as guests and left as friends. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you for this unforgettable experience! We loved everything.

I stayed at this homestay about 15 minutes from Gjirokaster, surrounded by countryside where sheep, goats and cows wander with their shepherd. The host was extremely friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was fresh and homemade. At my request, she cooked a delicious traditional dish. From the terrace you get a stunning view of the mountains, valley and Gjirokaster. Nothing to complain about.

The rooms were large and clean, the breakfast was good, the staff friendly, and the terrace offered beautiful views. The only downside is that the property is far from the city centre; if you don’t rent a car and arrive very late, getting there will be difficult and the taxi fare isn’t cheap.
