“Room is spacious and feeling could be better if the toilet/shower room facilities were more cleaner.”
The standalone building had a pleasant environment with spaces and a front yard to sit and welcome dusk, but the electricity kept cutting out multiple times a day and was turned off again every late morning.
“Okok”
The open space was a plus, but there was too much follow‑up for advance payments, insisting on full payment before service; I didn’t pay, and because of space issues my guests were moved to another hotel.
“À éviter sauf si vous n’avez vraiment pas le choix”
The front garden and the space were nice, but the room was filthy—dirty sheets and even a plastic bag under one of them. We had to ask for new linens, and it took 2h30 to get dinner ready. They charged 30k rupees for a room that was listed as 20k, and the front desk staff was extremely unpleasant. On top of that, the person who booked for a Japanese group was pressured into giving money to a supposed Buddhist charity, which turned out to be a scam. It was a truly disgusting experience.
“In our sweet stay it was a sweet place”
It was a good venue and the staff were amazing, and there were no negatives.
“A nice place to stay in Kushinagar for foreign tourists or Buddhist pilgrims.”
Our group of over 20 foreign Buddhist pilgrims enjoyed staying at Hotel The Ideal; just be ready to pay upon arrival, as the manager expects payment at check‑in even though normally it’s at check‑out; the parking lot could accommodate our chartered bus, the rooms were fine, we ordered both dinner and breakfast from the restaurant and the food was good, the staff were friendly, and the hotel sits in front of a major highway, so to reach other parts of Kushinagar (like Buddhist sites or restaurants) you’ll need a rickshaw or another means to cross the highway.
