“Foi tranquila, os funcionários simpáticos e prestáveis. Voltaria se o valor fosse mais em conta.”
I drove from Lisbon to Grândola on the A1 without issues. GPS directions made it easy to reach Monte das Faias. Breakfast was genuinely well prepared, with a wide variety: Alentejo bread, homemade cakes, coffee, preserves, yogurts, cheese, eggs, pastries, and juices—though not natural. We stayed in a package that included breakfast, and the farm is close enough to the center of Grândola that you can easily go to the supermarket to buy what you need for meals. Hand soap and liquid detergent were available, as were hand towels in the kitchen. Bath towels of various sizes were provided for all guests. The pool was nice, of decent size for a swim and for children to play; it was shared by all visitors and not the size of a hotel pool. The kids really enjoyed the mezzanine, even though it let in a lot of light. The bathroom needs updating: there is a lot of rust on the water heaters and towel racks. The bathtub is high and typical of the 70s/80s, making it hard to get in and out. There is no place to hang swimwear and towels, neither inside nor outside. A welcome kit of shampoo and body wash (pleasant scent) arrives, but it only lasts for one day or a couple of people. I suggest bringing your own complete travel kit. The kitchen needs improvement/upgrade. The stove no longer has labels on the buttons, making it hard to use, and it takes a long time to heat, so cooking is slow. I spent over 30 minutes boiling pasta. The freezer had no lid, so we couldn't buy frozen items. Because the freezer’s cold spread through the fridge, we ended up with cooked food getting cold. We had to charge our phones at the microwave outlet because there were no sockets on the ground floor (living room/kitchen/bedroom).
