Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield by IHG

“Stay was good”

The hotel itself was fantastic.

Among the nine hotels I stayed at on this trip, your handicap bathroom was the best; the room was close to the hotel entrance and the shower was set up well for both wheelchair and ambulatory guests. I hope most of your other hotels match this standard. Breakfast was average and there were no grab bags for those who needed them.

The room size was ideal, with good lighting and a comfortable bed. The only downside was that the outlet on my side of the bed was too loose to keep my cord in place, and the street entrance was confusing.

“Not the best”

The location and breakfast were fine, but the place was dirty, had sketchy people hanging around, and was constantly smelling like marijuana.

“Please see the notes above .. I will not book this location again”

The hotel advertised a pool, but it was actually next door and required walking outside and through the other hotel’s back hallways, down two flights of stairs—impossible for me with a broken leg, so my granddaughter was very disappointed she couldn’t swim. The phone would randomly flash a red light indicating a message, recorded in April, that could not be cleared. The air‑quality monitor also flashed red, and even though both devices were silent, the light woke me several times.
