“It was a hostile, unpleasant, and unsanitary environment.”
The building itself looked good, yet the social atmosphere was deeply problematic and the sanitation was critically lacking. From day one I was constantly confronted by residents who demanded I explain why I was there, feeling more like an interrogation than a welcome. A man in his mid‑to‑late 50s, short and bald, and his wife repeatedly asked invasive questions about my purpose and how I found the hostel, making me feel suspicious and harassed. Their insistence on me “adding value” created a hostile vibe, though a few mature guests managed normal chats. I was also watched by others, and two young men spoke to supposed clients in aggressive, predatory tones. I could not endure this for long, so I left after 8 days even though I had paid for over 20 nights; my request for a partial refund was denied by the receptionist. I believe a place should not accept money if it harbors prejudice that blocks a safe, inclusive environment. On top of that, the hygiene was awful: I saw many cockroaches and rodents in the building.
