The location and breakfast were acceptable, and there was a good supermarket downstairs. The rooms smelled stale, the old furniture was in bad condition, and the Shangri‑La chain required a 500‑yuan deposit per night (returned at the end) while the stay itself was paid at checkout, not check‑in, with a 1500‑yuan deposit for three nights—so the deposit exceeded the actual cost of the stay. Demanding a damage deposit from such an old hotel is ridiculous. It was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, and it was all because I was taking the train from Shenyang station, just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel.
