The place was tidy and presented nicely. Once we got the central heating up and running it was excellent, and the en suite bathroom was a highlight. However, we noticed a damp smell as soon as we entered and saw mould on the lounge wall near the windows. There were no instructions for the TV or heating, so we had to bring our own HDMI cable and laptop to watch TV. The beds were very uncomfortable— the mattresses clearly need replacing. Both the downstairs and upper landings have a single step, which is risky in low light, especially when carrying food or hot drinks from the kitchen to the dining area. The rooms felt tiny compared to the photos. The back garden’s shingle area was overgrown with weeds, and the main bathroom downstairs next to the kitchen meant a long walk for those staying upstairs in non‑en suite rooms.

The place was absolutely filthy when I arrived, with many other problems: a chair leg snapped off, only four forks for a house that sleeps up to eight, stains and marks on bedding, towels, walls, and carpets. The bedrooms were too small for double beds, so I had to lift the corner of the bed each time I opened or closed the en‑suite door. It was well over priced for what it was, and even if it had been cleaned and the issues sorted, it would still have been expensive. The internet was virtually non‑existent.

We rented this amazing property for four friends and it was a fully renovated house in a quiet neighbourhood. The only hiccup was a noisy fire detector, but the staff gave clear instructions and we sorted it quickly.
