“Not pleasant!”
It felt like a home away from home and I spent quality time with my children. We booked at the Blyde, but in the morning we were told the property had no water. The trip was mainly for my kids before school. We were offered alternative accommodation at the Regency Apartment Hotel (120/A), which has a swimming pool that I thought the children would enjoy while we waited for updates from the Blyde. They couldn’t use the pool because it’s next to the restaurant and noisy. My key issues: 1. The bed sheets were stained; I slept on top of the bed and reported it to the cleaners the next day, but the receptionist said cleaning was privately managed and not handled by their team. 2. The walls and doors were dirty with marks; I had to buy disinfectant to clean every area, the bathrooms, and wipe the walls to feel comfortable. 3. There was no time to relax; the room smelled like smoke, so I had to get perfumed candles to air out and purify the space. 4. The kids’ room beds were terrible and uncomfortable to sleep in. 5. The towels lost their original white color and looked brownish; thank God we brought our own towels.
