Staff were friendly and the room was tidy, which was a nice start. The bathroom felt dated – a ripped plastic shower curtain and rusty fittings, plus the bed constantly squeaked and woke my husband whenever we moved. The fridge and kettle were stuck in the hallway, yet there were no mugs or spoons, so making tea was a hassle. Breakfast offered the basics like ham and cheese but missed any fruit, veg or yogurt, and we were served ten minutes after it had already begun.

The pasta and pizza were solid, and the spot is right by Lake Mácha with a market and even a playground nearby. Unfortunately the shower had a pinkish mold patch, toothpaste smeared on the tiles, and we found a stray hairbrush under the bed – clearly the place hadn’t been properly cleaned before we arrived. The bed itself creaked loudly the moment you sat down, which we mentioned at checkout and hope they’ve fixed it for the next guests.

The location couldn’t be better, and the guesthouse itself was charming with very tasty breakfasts and a local pizza that hit the spot.
