Everything was great, but the welcome and the hotel itself left something to be desired.

The location right on the hiking trail is perfect, and the breakfast is fantastic.

Conveniently located, the owner is friendly, and the old‑style charm is nice (but that's all). Communication about arrival was terrible—no reception, a key box, and no clear instructions for the restaurant. The hotel is a shadow of its former glory, and I was crammed into a single‑occupancy room, which was uncomfortable. The bathroom was extremely small, towels were thin and worn, and the rafters were hanging. Thankfully it was only one night on the road. The village of Schlangenbad is also a faded glory.
