A charming off‑the‑beaten‑path spot, but the tropical storm knocked out the TV, so the tiny room forced me to sit on the bed to watch it. We usually don’t watch TV on vacation, but with the rain pouring, what else could you do? No refund for the second night because everyone else canceled. The room felt like a closet; a larger person would have trouble staying here.

The place was clean and the owner replied quickly to our email. The room had good air‑conditioning and a big TV with a decent cable lineup. The exterior looked like a classic roadside motel. The contactless check‑in was handy, but the initial email was missing details. We knew to look for room 7 and a lockbox, but the code wasn’t in the email. We emailed the owner at midnight and got the code in minutes. The room was unlocked when we arrived, which made us uneasy. The door only had a low‑security knob lock, no deadbolt or chain for extra safety inside. We were scouting for a future stay with our small dog, thinking it was pet‑friendly, but only queen rooms 1 and 2 were actually pet‑friendly, and that wasn’t clear on the website. If you book a different room and bring a pet, a big sign on the door warns of a $300 fine. This needs clearer communication. The room itself was plain, the bed and pillows were very firm, and the décor could use an update.
