“Beautiful location made us choose this place, but sub-par service makes us not consider it next time”
The best part of this place is its location and the old‑world charm of the historic building right in town, within walking distance of everything. The room is unique, and the porch is gorgeous—just make sure to book one of the larger rooms with a bathroom on the second floor, otherwise you’ll have to climb up to the attic. The service, however, was disappointing. When I checked in there were no towels, and the room felt like it had been left untouched for a while. On the second day we ran out of hand soap and it hadn’t been refilled before we arrived. We asked the staff about breakfast and requested a full housekeeping service for the day, but no one came or called. We had to call the main hotel in the evening just to get soap, because the room was left as it was. The “white noise generator” didn’t help at all; the walls are so thin that I could hear conversations in the next room while lying in bed. The breakfast being in another hotel in town was a real let‑down, with barely enough tables for the main building guests and a scramble for a couch spot. Meanwhile, the Dewey had a full kitchen and dining room that remained unused. I wouldn’t stay here again; in this price range, service matters.
