I had an excellent dive with Jen, but I wish I had spent more time there.

Family rooms feature air‑conditioning, private bathrooms, showers, and garden vistas. On‑site restaurant, bar, year‑round outdoor pool, and free public Wi‑Fi complement the setting. The location is very good, but the room was cramped, everything was old and poorly maintained, cleaning was minimal with some broken fixtures, the wardrobe lockers were broken, the room wasn’t cleaned that day, and we had to buy toilet paper.

The spot is conveniently in front of a beach; nobody actually sunbathes or swims there because there are always a lot of boats, but it’s handy for heading out on scuba trips, and the staff were very nice. However, the pool that should have been there was dirty and seemed closed with no notice, the rooms were very basic, the mattress was very springy and the whole bed moved a lot when you shift, waking me up frequently.

The place sits in a prime spot on Malapascua, probably one of the best resort locations around. Outside Wi‑Fi works fine, but it never penetrates the room walls. The pizza served at the restaurant is decent, though you can only order it during dinner. This is one of the most aggravating hotels I’ve stayed at; I gave it a 5 instead of an 8 because the staff and management seem to have abandoned any effort to meet standards. The balcony was filthy upon arrival, littered with sand and a pile of a girl’s hair, so we had to broom it ourselves. A huge spider web with a 4‑5 cm spider was also there. We left a notice on the door knob three times asking for a room cleaning, but nothing happened. The hotel never cleans rooms on its own and doesn’t check the door‑knob notice they provide. Out of six nights, the room was only cleaned three times after we found a staff member and asked. Facilities are lacking: no safe, so valuables stay exposed or you must take them with you. Some rooms had a clothesline outside, but ours didn’t, so we had to request one. The bathroom lacks a cup for toothbrushes and a towel rack, despite ample wall space. Shower water pressure is barely usable. The balcony door lock has no key; we had to push the wardrobe in front of it when leaving and pull it back when returning, like an old Resident Evil game. The bathroom window has no screen, so bugs can crawl in when you open it for ventilation. No mat was provided to wipe sand off at the entrance, and there’s no garbage can in the room except for the toilet‑paper bin, which comes with a tiny plastic bag that wastes most of its capacity. The balcony light is broken.

We really liked the location—super central and close to every dive center, plus a nice restaurant that serves good pizza. The internet is a nightmare; you’ll need a SIM card if you need it. Shower water pressure is very thin, and the bedroom feels a bit cramped.
