“Fantastische Erfahrung mitten in der Natur bei einer herzlichen Familie”

We had planned to climb the Ijen volcano, so we chose this place, but the volcano was still closed because of fires, so the climb didn’t happen. Still, we didn’t regret spending two days in this gorgeous spot. The bamboo house is beautifully crafted with attention to detail, and the setting is a quiet village right in the jungle surrounded by rice paddies. A natural pool is just a 3‑minute walk away. What made it even better were the hosts, who cooked delicious meals and helped us with our excursions. It was a fantastic experience, even without the volcano, and we’d recommend it to any nature lover. We’re definitely coming back soon. The stay was perfect – we’d love to stay longer!

The welcome was great. The hosts were warm, helpful, and available throughout our stay. We could rent scooters on site, and breakfast and meals were also provided. They even offered to send a driver to pick us up and drop us off in town, at the port, or elsewhere at the end of the trip. The surroundings were beautiful, and we had a wonderful stay despite the Mt Ijen closure due to fires. Thanks again for everything!

The place is in the middle of nature, it’s beautiful, the accommodation is very clean, and the staff are attentive! 👌 The photos match reality. The downside of being in the middle of nature is that there isn’t much to do on foot nearby.

“Déçu”

The bamboo rooms are great, very clean, and the setting is splendid. The bedding is excellent. There is no hot water, but that’s not a big deal. I came with a Grab, and on the way back I couldn’t find a single Grab to pick me up at that location. I told the owner that I couldn’t find a Grab, but he didn’t offer to bring me closer to Banyuwangi. I had to carry my bag on my back for 14 kilometres, and I finally got a lift by hitch‑hiking. If you’re not driving, don’t go there – no one will come pick you up, and the host won’t bring you back.

The houses are cute and surrounded by nature. Using the outdoor bathroom is a lot of fun. The hosts are very welcoming and helped us plan a nighttime visit to Ijen. Breakfast was nice, and the food from their restaurant was generally excellent (the self‑service crackers are a delicious trap 🤤). You can cross rice fields to reach a nice natural swimming pool nearby. There’s a small shop around in case you need extra food or water. We recommend bringing earwax with you. The area has many mosques, and the closest one regularly plays the Qur’an on speakers in addition to the call to prayer, the first of which was at 3:30 am during our visit.
