Hostal Macambo

“A lovely and friendly hotel in the best part of Iquitos”

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room on the second floor was comfortable, and the much‑needed air‑conditioning worked well. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and soap and shampoo were provided. The breakfast was adequate. Next door was a handy shop with cold drinks, etc. Hostal Macambo was conveniently located near restaurants, the river, and the main square, and it’s on a pedestrian street so there’s no traffic noise. The only downside was that there was no hot water.

The staff were nice and the location was good, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the shower in my room was broken, so I had to go shower in a different room late at night, and the shower didn’t have any hot water option.

“Lovely staff, clean rooms, great AC.”

The location was great, just off the plaza, and the AC worked well. The staff were super helpful when we left some things behind. Breakfast is included, and when we left late one morning they offered us a mandarin to go, which was so sweet. The showers had no hot water, which isn’t terrible considering how hot Iquitos is, but a warm shower would have been nice at night.
