Golden Hill Guesthouse

The pool was great and the location was perfect, but there was no housekeeping during my stay and towels weren't changed unless I asked for it.

“Possibly just not the nicest room on the property, but a nice location and outside area to make up for it”

The location was nice and the balcony outside offered a lovely view of the island. The room was very warm and only had a fan that didn’t work well. When we arrived, the sink was covered in dead insects.

Nothing to say. The staff were unfriendly and seemed to struggle even with a greeting. Upon arrival I was offered an upgrade to a room with air‑conditioning, which I declined. The room smelled moldy, ventilation was poor, and the bathroom window wouldn’t open, causing water and steam to stay inside the apartment. I slept with windows and doors open. The pillows were completely ruined by mold; I was shocked when I saw them. They should have been discarded long ago—this isn’t funny. Guest health care seems to be ignored entirely. It felt like I owed them, not the other way around. I don’t recommend it.

The location was a bit away from the bustle. The room was rather basic and dark, and the pool was not on site; you still have to climb a few steps.

The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked well. The pool advertised was actually at a sister hotel about a 3‑minute walk away, and the hotel faces a large empty man‑made reservoir that has some rubbish buildup.
