The Loft Bed and Breakfast

The owners were lovely, the breakfast that came with the stay was fantastic, and the location suited us perfectly. The TV needs an upgrade.

“Great”

The host was lovely and the homemade breakfast—especially the sourdough and yogurt—was delicious. The room was very spacious and comfortable. A car is necessary to reach Taupō, as it’s too far to walk. It was a perfect stay for us. The only suggestion would be to have a small fridge in the room.

“Outstanding B&B in glorious suburb of Taupo!”

Ian and Mary are just wonderful hosts, experienced and attentive. We stayed in the biggest room, the Shakespeare suite, which was superb and comfortable: very roomy with a large bed, a nice bathroom, and all the amenities you could need (hair dryer, plenty of towels in various sizes, tissues, shampoo, an electric blanket, a fan, tea, etc.). They also provide a lot of information about Taupo and the surrounding area, offering recommendations tailored to your interests. Breakfast is prepared in their own kitchen, and the table offers a wide selection of tasty foods, including an English hot breakfast if you want it. Initially, we heard some noise from downstairs in the evening, but it was completely silent at night, allowing us to sleep soundly. Nothing else to note. Taupo has so much to offer, and we felt a bit sad to leave—it would have been easy to stay a week or more in that area.
