The area around the hotel is great, with a supermarket, a theater, a metro station, and good food nearby; the room and facilities were nice, and the staff worked hard and behaved well, making the trip enjoyable. However, when I arrived I couldn’t locate the hotel name and was waiting for someone to escort me to the building.

I booked a homestay near Kalighat through AI suggestions and Mavenoak Dreams turned out to be one of the top picks. Right after I confirmed my reservation, the host called to inform me that there was no lift, a small but honest gesture that showed they care about guests. The building itself didn’t hint at what was inside, but once we stepped in we were delighted by the beautifully designed interiors, spotless rooms, and a very comfortable bed that made it easy to unwind after a hectic day. The staff were always ready to help with a smile, and their hospitality made us feel right at home. The highlight was the spacious balcony attached to our room, where my wife and I spent a tranquil morning doing yoga and meditation, creating one of our favorite memories of the trip. She loved the place so much that I’ll definitely return on my next visit to Kolkata. The only drawback was the lack of a lift, but that was a minor inconvenience.

Room was good. Ambiance was not good specially stair case dirty and dark. Fourth floor without lift

I slept well in the bed, but the fourth‑floor location without a lift was a problem, and the staircase was dirty and dark. The balcony had been turned into a bathroom with only a regular hot water supply during the scorching season, and the surrounding area was awful—no nearby eateries, and it felt unsafe and hard to escape in an emergency.

I enjoyed the evenings there, and there was nothing negative to mention.
