“Stay away”

The building was solid – no drywall falling off and I didn’t see any lizards crawling around – but the air‑conditioning was dead, so it felt like 102 °F inside, humid and a bit musty. It was marketed as a cool oasis, yet the smell and dampness made it uncomfortable, and I wouldn’t choose to come back.

“Séjour agréable dans le beau village de Mompos”

Staying in a lovely colonial house right in the middle of Mompos was a treat; the staff were warm and helpful, the beds comfy, and the AC actually worked. Breakfast was a decent spread with arepas, and the room was spotless with plenty of storage, though the bathroom felt cramped and the room got a bit dark – the patio vibe makes up for it. Paying only with cash was a hassle at times, but there were ATMs close by.

“Great staff and great location”

The hotel staff were genuinely friendly, especially Emily who went out of her way to help me, and the spot near the river put the main sights within easy reach. The rooms were spotless and the breakfast solid, but the Wi‑Fi in my room kept dropping, which was frustrating. Overall a good base despite the internet hiccup.

“Accoglienza magica”

Casa Alicia feels even more magical than the already enchanting town of Mompox – you’re treated like family while still enjoying a lot of privacy. The garden and the elegant colonial patio are beautiful, filled with furniture and photos that tell local stories, and the place is quiet, welcoming, and just a short walk from the river and nearby bars. Breakfast didn’t have many choices, but what was offered was delicious.
