Everything was great, but the in‑room breakfast set‑up was awkward because the lounge chair and table height made it hard to eat comfortably.

“3 star room for 5 star price”

The spot is amazing—quiet, scenic, near a nice beach, plenty of hiking, and cool places like Gualala and Point Arena, plus decent food at Sea Ranch, though it’s pricey and dinner options are limited if you can’t book the lodge. Our shower was awful, looking like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, and it didn’t drain, so we showered in ankle‑deep water every night; we told front desk to fix it, but it still didn’t drain after maintenance. In another room, mornings had no hot water and that issue was never solved. Staff were unhelpful, the text concierge didn’t help, there was no front desk after 7 pm, and if maintenance was needed you had to call before 5 pm or you’d be stuck. The front desk and text concierge did the bare minimum for our shower problems and we received no compensation. Food was overpriced and dinner choices were limited if you couldn’t get a lodge reservation.
