The Irene Hotel feels like a charming, well‑furnished little place, and the owner is genuinely friendly. Checking in was smooth, the breakfast buffet was tasty and plentiful, and the room, though small, was more than adequate. The décor is lovely and the staff really go the extra mile to make guests comfortable. It’s a great hotel, but I did notice a lingering cigarette smell coming from both sides of my balcony, which was unpleasant for a non‑smoker, and the bed linen could have been cleaner.

The breakfast was good and the staff were nice. I booked a single room but was given a double instead. During the day it was scorching hot, and even at night the room stayed unbearably warm; there was no fan or air conditioning available.

The breakfast was well prepared, the staff were very friendly, and the surroundings are beautiful with plenty to do. Hedelberg: visit the town centre or head to the castle for a stunning view over the city and river. Near Michelstadt there’s an old town with timber‑framed houses, a nice café‑pastry shop worth recommending, a cute tea shop, and more.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast was good. The bathroom could use a deep clean again, and the parking situation was difficult.
