Everything was great. The only issue was that there were no proper paths to walk through the gardens.

“a catalouge of poor service”

The gardens and setting were nice. On a sunny Thursday afternoon when we arrived, the south‑facing room was boiling hot and the windows were closed. We were a group of ten and decided to put pre‑dinner drinks in our rooms, then had dinner and drinks at a table that was split up. When we tried to pay, they said they couldn’t and started asking what we had all eaten, and we were literally standing there deciding who had shared the chips. The staff were running between reception and the bar to serve us at 5 pm on arrival. Breakfast service was shocking; we sat down at 8 am, and I had to go to reception at 8:25 to ask for a waiter. My wife ordered beans on toast and a poached egg, but a dessert spoon of beans came with an egg but no toast. I ordered Bacon, Egg, Beans, Sausage, but mine came without bacon, and when I cut into the sausage it was raw inside (not pink… RAW), so I didn’t eat it.

The location was great, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. The rooms could use some TLC; they look a little tired.

The staff were fantastic and the food was excellent. The room was too hot and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. There were also a lot of little flies, and I got bitten at night.

“Relaxing and peaceful”

A place of real character, good staff, and peaceful. Nothing negative.
