“Treated like a valued guest and tucked all the boxes”
The breakfast was excellent and included masala omelette, fruit, toast with jam and butter, and more whenever we finished something. The host helped with anything we needed. They called a Tuk Tuk to town (100) and arranged a car and driver for a fair price, so we didn’t have to hassle or negotiate. We saw another guest get on a staff member’s motorcycle. Air conditioning worked well, and the fan, hot water, clean room, and decent bed made it quiet. The view from the hotel was a panorama of all the monuments, and we very much enjoyed walking into town with lots of photo opportunities. We stayed two days and only took a Tuk Tuk once. The reservation was made with a credit card, but payment at the property was cash only, which was a surprise. On the second day, coffee, tea, and water were not replaced, but we were given full carafes at breakfast, so it wasn’t a huge issue. Shops are not close, which is both good and bad; you just need to be prepared and bring enough water from town at the end of the day. Some staff were proficient in English; other times the staff called someone to translate, but they were very eager to ensure all was well, so it worked.
