Candlewood Suites San Angelo by IHG

The rooms were large, the kitchen came with dishes, and the beds were comfortable, but the shower heads were old, and I had to push or pull the room door to ensure it was fully closed; it wasn’t shut once and someone walked into my room.

“Stay was ok. Lots of frequent, short term occupants with wear and tear.”

The front desk was very friendly and welcoming, and the hotel’s location is great. The price is good, and they even offered giant donuts for free in the morning. However, the air quality in my room was poor, with a strong smell of disinfectant or carpet cleaner, and it feels like the rooms have deteriorated compared to my previous stays.

“I’ve stayed here primarily for the last 10 years and this is probably my last stay at this hotel. It’s seriously gone do”

Parking was easy because the hotel was practically empty, even with the Rodeo and Stockshow in Town and that’s saying SOMETHING. No breakfast, front desk employees were vaping out in the open and charging their vapes out in the open for everybody to see. Beds sucked, rooms smelled weird, rooms only have 1 bathroom sink. Snacks in snack room are expired and overpriced. Washers made my clothes smell awful. Chairs and couches in the room have stains and the chairs are peeling, the dishes in my room were all dirty with food residue and dust on many of the bowls, glasses, cups and forks. These are signs of an aging and clearly neglected hotel

“Awesome but sad at the same time”

Everything was exceptional: the staff, the bed was my favorite—very comfortable and clean. The only downside was that I couldn’t stay longer.
