“Pleasant place to stay close to the airport and Kalinago Territory.”
We stayed in a nice room at a guest house that had a fridge, microwave, and Wi‑Fi, and the shower’s hot water worked fine. The garden had birds and pitcher plants, and the staff arranged a taxi for a day trip. It’s close to a bakery, supermarket, and jerk‑chicken stalls, and the airport is nearby, so it’s convenient for early departures or late arrivals. Marigot is a solid base for visiting the Kalinago district. We weren’t told how to turn on the fridge, and a pair of light switches under a window – which we only discovered the next morning – controlled some ceiling lights and the fan, so we couldn’t use them the first night. A brief crib sheet in the room would help. After we got everything working, there were no more issues.
“To be avoided as there are other hotels or guest houses closed to the airport”
The location was close to the airport, which was good for our 7:15 AM flight. The room was very basic, had no window (just a glass door) and no balcony as advertised. The manager told us he didn’t accept credit cards (contrary to what was announced), only cash or PayPal. Because we didn’t have enough cash, we had to pay via PayPal with an extra $5 charge over the agreed price. No food or room service was offered, contrary to what was advertised.
The hotel was fine in some ways, but the electrical outlets and TV didn’t work.
“Great little hotel, 5 mins to the airport”
The small hotel had very helpful and friendly hosts. We stayed because our flight left early and we didn’t want to drive from Roseau to the airport at 4 AM; it’s only a 5‑minute drive. They can arrange dinner too. If you plan a longer stay, the room may feel a bit tight, but there’s a microwave and kettle. The bed was comfortable. Everything was great.
“OK hotel near the airport but with issues”
The hotel sits close to the airport, and a young staff member was friendly and helped me book a local tour on short notice. The room was decent, featuring a comfortable bed, good A/C, a mini fridge, a mini microwave, and a private bathroom. Sand Bay is within walking distance, though the descent and ascent are steep. However, the bathroom had a leaking toilet that constantly ran, and the pipe under the sink leaked, leaving water on the floor whenever I used the faucet. The TV was unusable because the remote didn’t work. There are no mini‑supermarkets or decent restaurants nearby, and unlike other hotels, they wouldn’t offer a discount for these inconveniences. They also required me to pay the hotel fees upfront via PayPal, but I never received a receipt confirmation despite requesting one. This is unsettling, especially when the booking advises against paying outside the platform. If the bathroom, TV, and payment issues were fixed, the hotel would be a solid choice near the airport.
