The food was tasty, which was the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately the room left a lot to be desired – there were no hand towels, the sink was clogged, only a single power outlet, and the terrace paint was already flaking off.

Breakfast hit the spot with warm bread, a plate loaded with veggies, egg, cheese and meat, plus butter and jam on the side. The downside was the lack of clarity on which drinks were included – our daughter ordered juice and ended up paying extra without any warning.

The hotel sits a bit out of town, but the garden and pool are really pleasant, and the restaurant serves a variety of decent dishes with attentive service. Our room was clean and had all the basics, so we spent mornings on excursions and afternoons relaxing by the pool – a solid base for exploring the area.

It served as a handy base for visiting the churches around Iwanowo, but communicating with the staff was a bit tricky – only the manager seemed comfortable in English, while the rest were unsure how to respond to our questions.
