“Overall, we enjoyed our stay, despite the mediocre showers. Friendly staff, and fantastic location.”

Breakfast was solid, not just the usual fare, which was nice. There were tasty doughballs, a good spread of cereals, yoghurt, fruit and seeds, and the bread was good too. The bar had a lovely open fire and a relaxed vibe. The showers in both rooms were poor; they seemed powered by a combo boiler, and the flow dropped to a dribble several times during the shower. The water wasn’t hot enough. We compared our experience with friends, and both couples faced the same issue, which lowered our overall impression.

“Lovely location, nice hotel and room, but overpriced for underwhelming food. Booking not clear on half board terms.”

The location is very pretty. The room was nice, comfortable, and clean. We booked half board expecting a meal and breakfast included in the room rate. The price set an expectation of a full meal and breakfast, but it only included a taster menu, and breakfast was just cereal and toast. A cooked breakfast and latte cost about £25 per person extra. The taster menu was very disappointing, with some dishes being deeply unpleasant.

“A perfect stay in a beautiful village!”

The ambiance is beautiful, the food is fabulous, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing missing is a hairdryer.
