FLEXSTAY INN Sugamo

I loved the privacy and freedom this hotel offers; you can come and go whenever you want, and the staff is very professional and friendly. Also having a laundry with a dryer is a 10/10. The only thing I didn’t like, which is insignificant, is that there are small stairs at the entrance, but otherwise everything is wonderful.

Nothing… friendly staff, and the fact that the Yamanote line is a few steps away. It’s humid to the point of death, you can’t breathe, there’s a horrible smoke stench, I got sick, terrible structure.

The hotel is in a great spot, 5 minutes on foot from Sugamo JR station and connected to Tokyo’s main stations. The room was large enough and clean, excellent value for money. Unfortunately, they do not clean the room, but a cleaning fee and towel change are required, so be careful when booking.

It feels like your own little room, cozy with a microwave, even the dish soap is thoughtful! Overall, it’s pretty good, the only little downside is that the duvet has a lot of cotton fluff…

The room had everything I needed for a 9‑day stay: a refrigerator, kettle, hotplate, pot and microwave, which made cutting meals a breeze. Supermarkets and minimarts pop up every 2‑3 minutes walk away, and two shrines or temples are just 3 to 6 minutes away, with the Toshima market nearby. There are plenty of restaurants and food spots to pick from, and the subway and train stations are less than a 9‑minute walk. The only downside was that I had to pay extra for towels and linen, and there was no housekeeping service.
