Comfortable stay with a self‑deluded immersion in Buddhist temple culture; the setting was nicely organized. I still felt foolish, like most tourists, thinking I could catch some spiritual Buddhist magic from this trip. In the end it’s a more comfortable guesthouse for western tourists looking for a spiritual touch on their Japan journey. Koyasan itself and especially the cemetery are magical.
