A fantastic little place, the staff were lovely, and it was so close to Grasmere. Our room and shower could have been cleaner; there were a few marks on the walls and the shower walls were unclean.

The bed was comfortable, the bath tub spacious and lovely, and the heated floor was a plus! The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we appreciated the free G&T upon arrival. The spa was lovely, much needed after a weekend of camping and walking. Breakfast was a bit cold, but we still liked the buffet items. We’re sauna snobs, but the sauna only hit 65 °C and had a gap under the door, so it didn’t feel truly hot; the steam was lovely, though.

All the food was excellent. The staff were amazing, especially when they changed our room because my husband, who is disabled, was struggling on the stairs. We were treated wonderfully in the dining room as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish it could have been longer. Thank you so much. Nothing else, just the weather could have been a little better!

The property is beautiful and the spa very nice. The food is excellent. The bath needs freshening, and the grout around the shower and floor needs replacing because of mildew stains.
