Essensio Hotel Düsseldorf

“Ein sehr schönes Wellness- & Aktiv-Hotel, welches keine Wünsche offen lässt”

Great green setting, stylish design, excellent fitness and wellness area, large and beautiful rooms, beds with superb mattresses, very good breakfast, plenty of parking, friendly staff, very relaxing, great value for money. Unfortunately the wellness and fitness area closes at 21:00, I’d have liked it open until 22:00, and having windows overlooking the green in the breakfast area would have been nice.

“I will never come back there.”

The gym and sauna were nice. I arrived late and almost found myself locked outside the hotel, nobody answered in the first phone I tried and in the 2nd finally someone answered but they didn’t speak English, after a guessing game I found out where they left my ticket (a text message in the booking app with an explanation would have saved it) and then I got to my room. I had to leave at 9am and return at 9pm each day so I didn’t get to use the sauna and the facilities other than the breakfast and one time the sauna for 10min. I had no hot water in my shower for 2 days and only in the 3rd day after I talked to the reception because finally I came back before they are all gone at 9pm and the guy there said it was a technical issue and now he fixed it. The day after I had “hot” water but it wasn’t really hot, I wanna decide what is too hot for me, not be limited by a sort of hot water that a 4 star hotel decides for me. Then in the breakfast I wanted 6 hard boiled eggs, and I got only 4 because they ran out of eggs, how is that happening?! The next day I bought my own eggs and asked them to cook it, I also bought my own avocado because they didn’t have any and overall the breakfast in this hotel is a 1-2 star hotel breakfast. On Sunday they left a note “inform the reception if you want to give up on cleaning your room for a free drink”, I didn’t want a drink so I didn’t inform them but I guess it wasn’t really a choice, because they still decided to not clean my room. The gym is nice, I did enjoy playing with cool stretching machines. The people there are nice but english should be a language that they speak in my opinion, if not all at least one person in every shift

“Depende para que necesites este hotel”

It’s strange: a hotel in a sports centre! There’s no reception, the key is in a box, and everything is only in German.

The beds, hygiene, and bathroom were great – a truly nice room. The only downside was there was no place to have a drink; you could only do that in your room. Breakfast was fine but not extensive, no eggs (neither boiled, fried, scrambled, or any egg dish), and you have to ask for coffee or tea.

The hotel enjoys a nice spot in a quiet area and offers plenty of parking. However, the front desk was already unmanned at 5 pm, leaving no point of contact or doorbell, and the restaurant shut an hour before its official closing time. In the suite with a whirlpool there were no bathrobes, no operating instructions for the whirlpool (the start button did nothing, so I couldn’t tell if it worked), and no privacy screen on the terrace. The air‑conditioning control was also unclear; at checkout we were told to turn it “the wrong way around.” For a 4‑star suite this was very disappointing.
