The staff were very responsive, the place was clean, and parking was convenient for car travelers, but the safe didn’t work and the door key was useless, so I had to keep asking someone to open the door.

It was clean, but the hotel was a nightmare: I booked a room and arrived a day later only to find it still unprepared, and although I’d requested accommodation for two people, the towels and everything else were set out for just one. When I called reception they told me I had to pay extra for it. Breakfast was supposed to be included in the room rate, yet nobody ever mentioned it and when I asked at checkout they just shrugged. Then, at 9:00 am on Saturday, a housekeeper barged in without knocking, shouted at me and slammed the door. Later, at lunch I went to the front desk and started a conversation, but no one ever apologized. At checkout I was charged for a sparkling water from the minibar that I never took, and my complaints were ignored, causing me to miss my flight and pay extra. The room was pricey for the upscale segment of Almaty, yet the service was terrible; I’m demanding a partial refund because those four days were awful.

The room was good, but they gave us a smoking room without warning or asking us, which was unacceptable.
