“Blijf er weg, er zijn er genoeg.”
I was pleased with the location because I could park my own car there, and the staff’s apologies were acceptable. However, when I arrived there was no breakfast included as the booking had promised, so I had to get it for free. The cleanliness was far from Western standards: there were flies everywhere, the tables and buffet were not washed, and at the breakfast area people were still sleeping until 9 am. Breakfast consisted of tomato, pita bread, eggs, a kind of sausage, jam, and thermos water for instant coffee or tea; on the last day the water was actually from the previous day and not warm, the sugar jar had been open for three days with flies, and the instant coffee was the same. Even a stray cat jumped onto the food. In the room the air‑conditioner worked for only one day, and they could switch it off remotely; there was no fridge, the windows were very dirty, the curtains were partly loose, the bed linens were too small and had been cut with scissors. The bathroom had a thick rubber mat in the shower that hurt your feet, a washbasin cabinet with a bad smell, two small, hard, stained towels, a dirty mirror, and more. Outside, the lighting between the dining area and room 2 was off for two of the three nights. The internet worked only sporadically, and the personal 4G was not reliable; there was no internet in the rooms.
