Ixum is a wonderful spot for both relaxing and exploring Cancun; the staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to help, so I’d highly recommend staying here.

The place looks great—modern, spacious rooms right in downtown Cancun, close enough to walk to bars and restaurants, and with night security that made me feel safe. The downside was that the doors are battery‑operated and need a code; ours ran out of battery, so we were locked out for over an hour and nobody on the property could replace it, which is worrying. When they finally unlocked it, the battery still wasn’t replaced, so we couldn’t leave the room again without being locked in. Luckily it was our last night, and the staff handled it nicely, even offering us wine, though it could have been worse for others.
