The room was in a good spot, but the parking was inconvenient; Rome was easy to explore, though that wasn’t my main goal. The bed’s mattress was ruined, there was no water bottle in the room (not a huge deal but expected), and not even a hint of shampoo or body wash in the shower. The rooms were inside an apartment, as the photos show, with a shared kitchen that lacked everything, even water—there was no water in the room or the kitchen. Because the rooms were so close, it might be worth telling guests not to shout at 8 am as it could disturb others. Rome is full of B&Bs and hotels; you should raise the bar or else you’ll have a short life and the location won’t last long.

“HORRIBLE”

I dealt with the owner, who was unresponsive and offered no solutions; the room was dirty, poorly maintained, with bad odors, the jacuzzi water leaked, the air conditioning kept shutting off, the apartment keys were broken, and the owner left us stranded at night unable to open the downstairs door—only a neighbor opened it at 00:00.

“nach 30 Minuten wieder ausgecheckt”

In the bathroom there were still towels from the previous guest, and when I tried to push them aside I found crawling creatures underneath—furniture, floor, and walls were all scuffed. The air conditioning was disgusting. When we arrived there were no bath towels ready, so we had to ask a cleaning lady who didn’t speak English (she happened to be on site) for them, and she had to search for the keys everywhere first. The bed was clean, but after 30 minutes of finding the crawling creatures we checked out and moved to another hotel. The host tried to persuade us to stay via WhatsApp with extra cleaning and new towels, but that was not an option for us.
