When I booked, I asked for a lower bed. Upon arrival, I took that lower bed even though I was assigned a higher one. In the room, besides mine, there were at least two free beds, one of which was lower. The next day I told the front‑desk lady that I had taken the lower bed because I couldn’t sleep on the higher one, just as I had requested in the booking. She curtly told me I shouldn’t do that because the lower bed was reserved for someone else who never arrived and they must refund if they can’t meet the request. The beds stayed empty all night, and I had also requested a lower bed – why would my request be denied? An unpleasant woman from Ukraine at the reception, even another Asian guest, pointed out that I should have greeted her.
