Everyone was friendly, the conservation work was impressive, and the overall atmosphere—especially at the restaurant—was great. Unfortunately, there were fewer animals than expected, and many advertised facilities were out of service.

“Uma excelente estadia num lugar único”

Staying at Quinta do Martelo was amazing and surpassed all our expectations. We chose the property because we wanted something other than a standard hotel, and we discovered a truly special hospitality project that offers an ethnographic experience of the housing history of Terceira. The mentor, Mr Gilberto, was relentless in the attention he gave us and in the initiatives he took to make our stay memorable. He has deep knowledge of the historical and ethnographic themes the estate has been involved with, and his concern for using local products and environmental impact is evident. We quickly sensed his passion and pride for the project, and his enthusiasm for sharing it with guests left us eager to explore and enjoy the details of this estate’s long history. The restaurant dishes are a must-try; the Alcatra is the best we’ve had on Terceira, and the service from Mr Paulo Vasconcelos is unique and fun. Thanks to the whole team at Quinta do Martelo and congratulations to Mr Gilberto Vieira for his vision and perseverance on this project. Nothing to complain about.

“Séjour atypique dans un grand espace d'ancienne culture et tradition Açorienne”

We loved the rural Açorien setting, from the architecture and décor to the food at the restaurant.

“Amei a Quinta do Martelo!”

The location, décor, hospitality, food, and authenticity were great, but I would have liked some garden chairs to sit comfortably in the garden.

The concept was very interesting, with traditional houses restored in the common areas; the rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable, but the toiletries were scarce (only one soap), there was no hair dryer, and breakfast was not very varied.
