The room and the outdoor bath were wonderful, very relaxing and comfortable, and from the balcony we could see Mt. Fuji; the staff were very accommodating with our requests. Dinner was tasty, though a bit pricey for what it was. The surrounding forest is beautiful. The dining area feels dated, with concrete and a grey interior that shows its age. Even though the food and drinks were delicious, the lighting was too bright and harsh; the atmosphere suffered because the dining area is small and the table layout feels flat, with no background music or anything. It could use some partitions or decorations.

The tatami is very comfortable and the breakfast isn’t as bad as people say. The room can’t stream Netflix or YouTube; the Marriott spa is very ordinary, so I’d recommend going to Mori no Yu instead.

The location, amenities and onsite activities are great, but the lights are on the dimmer side; it could be a bit brighter.

“Beautiful room but bring your own food and drink”

The room is beautiful, but both restaurants are very expensive, there’s no bar, no room service, no food deliveries allowed, and the hotel is in the middle of nowhere so you have to rely on the pricey restaurants.
