Hostel Elena

The hostel was very good! Our room was neatly arranged with two comfortable single beds, and the neighborhood was extremely quiet and peaceful. The only drawback was the customer service: the staff didn’t speak English and the reception desk was almost always empty. We asked for cutlery and couldn’t find anyone to help; when we finally did, we were told the kitchen was closed, so we couldn’t get any extra assistance or basic items we needed. Other than that, it was a good stay.

“Overall good but smelly”

The room and bathroom were a good size, hot water worked, there was a fridge, and check‑in was easy. It’s also a short walk from the bus station and close to Kaufland. Free parking in their courtyard was a big plus. If it weren’t for the cigarette smell in the room, this would easily have earned an 8.5 rating. The cigarette odor was awful; even though I’m a smoker, I can’t stand the smell while I sleep. It stuck to my clothes in the wardrobe. Please address that, it’s a shame because the room is otherwise quite good. Also consider replacing the stained or old towels.

Everything was clean, a private room with a bathroom is excellent for a hostel, 10/10. The only thing missing is a kettle or a lunch box; they only boil water, but that isn’t a big deal.

The spot is great and the room is spacious. The furniture feels a bit old‑fashioned, but for the price it’s acceptable; I’ve stayed here several times while touring Greece.
