The food was okay, but the room was dirty with mouldy window sills and a small balcony covered in bird droppings; we were in room 7 and the staff seemed unhappy—no greeting or smile, basic service only, and even at checkout they just handed us the receipt without wishing us a good stay or safe travels.

The hotel sits right in the heart of St Ives and has a rich history that keeps its original charm, but there’s no on‑site parking, everything else was fine.

I liked the central location and the room was comfy; they let us check in early so we could change our wedding attire. Breakfast, however, was a bit chaotic: the Full English was missing tomatoes and baked beans, which you’d expect, and when it finally arrived, one person in our party of four didn’t get any until we asked, and the toast came only after we’d almost left. The coffee pot was cold. Once the breakfast finally showed up, it was pretty good, but the rest was disappointing.

“Lovely location, lovely staff, tired accommodation and lacking breakfast”

The spot is spot-on and the staff were super friendly, but the rooms felt tired, the breakfast was subpar, and the Full English was missing two items, so it wasn’t really full.
