First, I have to mention the wonderful, caring, and considerate attitude of the hotel staff—everyone together and individually, thank you very much. We didn’t want to complain or say anything except because they asked for feedback, so here it is. The hotel itself: regarding the rooms—an enormous, spacious room that is strangely neglected, with smelly, dusty carpets. Dust and dead insects cover the panels around the entire room, the toilet is hanging and wobbles with a wooden plank, and every time you sit you hold the sink out of fear it will detach from the wall. Mold and mildew in the shower can be removed with a damp rag, but that probably adds to the overall grime. Water constantly drips from the toilet, the beds are hard stone, the walls are plastered, the window is warped so you can’t see through it, a fridge with ice that doesn’t cool, and loud noises at all hours from the rooms of the neighboring hotel, door slams, screams, and clatter during breakfast—this isn’t breakfast, we were left starving—shame! Everything that was supposed to be in the buffet might have cost about 50 shekels in total for all guests (including a basket of hotdog buns, which contained 4 and a half buns). The hotel has renovated and nice rooms, but they’re not available to Israelis. Israelis get the “brera” (a derogatory term). Too bad. Thanks for the meal, but we probably won’t return.

I slept on super comfy beds and devoured the breakfast spread, which was huge and varied. The vibe was great, especially thanks to Ahmed who speaks English fluently, connects well with guests, and is always smiling. Without him the place would feel dead and stiff; he gives the hotel a special atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. Thanks to Ahmed I know this is my Jerusalem hotel and I’ll be back soon! 🍀💪

The location and city view are excellent. The manager and staff are friendly, helpful, and supportive, and guests of all nationalities are made to feel welcome. The Wi-Fi was excellent, and the room was air-conditioned with plenty of natural light throughout the day. 10 out of 10. Nothing

I had a great stay at New Capitol Hotel. The best part was the location – it made exploring the Old City a breeze, being practically within walking distance to Damascus Gate and Herod's Gate, with public transit just nearby. Rooms were tidy, beds comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. A big shout‑out to the front desk and staff for being polite, accommodating, and always ready to help. I’d gladly book here again on my next Jerusalem visit! The only downside was the refrigerator noise.
