“Great stay”

The location was great, a nice walk into Bakewell, and the breakfast and walks were amazing, but the window rattled at night in room 6 even though everything else was perfect.

The room was lovely, the location was great, and the value was good when you include breakfast, especially the café breakfast, though there was a musty smell when I arrived that I soon got used to.

“Convenient location but rather tired accommodation.”

The breakfast selection was good, usually very good, but on one occasion the food was cold; the café staff were helpful, the bathroom was well appointed and spacious, and having a fridge in the room was convenient; the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and its location was good for walking. However, the room was not serviced during our 3‑night stay, 5 teabags for 3 days didn’t last long and the china mugs got very stained; the coffee bags were good but only 2 decaf sachets were left; there was nowhere to dry towels because we weren’t allowed to put them on the radiator; one blind was broken, the room had 3 windows and lacked privacy—everyone could see us on our way to the front door; the bedroom smelled stale, the bathroom smelled like drains, the sink gurgled as if the pipe was blocked, the shower trap couldn’t handle the water flow so probably needs cleaning out; and with no staff on site there was no one to fix these minor issues that would have made the stay better.

It was always a quiet and comfy stay.

“Night of rest”

The room was comfortable and nicely clean, perfect for a pleasant overnight stay, though all the door codes could be confusing, at least it is secure.
