The place is super quiet, set in nature, and the community kitchen is great for chatting and bonding. The rooms are simple but nicely arranged, and the hammocks are a nice touch.

The outdoor setting is pleasant, full of green and local wildlife like chameleons, lizards, and frogs. The staff are friendly and helpful, and Fernando and his team did everything they could to make the stay comfortable. However, our toilet had leaks that kept the bathroom wet, and the room was very hot; more ventilation through the windows would help, though the balcony breeze was nice and the provided fans fixed the issue.

Owner Marisa was easy to reach and the personnel were friendly and helpful. The room was simple and clean, meeting my expectations for the price. The restaurants are 3–5 minutes away, and cooking yourself is possible—though it wasn’t requested. The value for money is fine; I don’t always need luxury. The property is old and could use a fresh coat of paint. They don’t accept credit cards, only Pix and Brazilian Reals, as Marisa wrote in an email. In Barreirinhas it’s hard to find a working ATM, but we found a practical way to get cash in Artis.
