“Heerlijk verblijf!”

We had a lovely stay in a cozy, truly Japanese hotel. The hotel sits in a small, quiet village about 1 km from the station. We had by far the biggest room on our entire Japan trip! It was wonderful. With traditional tatami mats you remove your shoes, which instantly adds to the authentic feel, and walking on tatami feels heavenly. Our room was extra spacious, with two separate beds, soft linens, and thick, comfy down blankets. A real bonus were the separate onsens, free to use and totally relaxing. As usual in Japan you use the onsen naked. Breakfast is served buffet‑style. Dinner is carefully prepared and ready at the pre‑agreed time. A lovely, classic Japanese experience! A wonderful stay we’ll fondly remember.

The spot was spot on. We stayed 5 nights and it was a comfy base for the Nakasendo. The menu stayed the same, so 5 nights felt a bit too long for the limited options; it’s best for a 3‑night stay.

“Very good value for the money”

I found a lot of free perks like drinks and onsen, a decent breakfast, a few nice touches, a Japanese vibe, super friendly staff, a quiet spot, and everything stayed clean. The place feels a bit old‑fashioned and could use some updates, especially the girl onsen area.

Loved the location along the river. A bit of a walk from the station but not too far. Great facilities and a cosy local vibe. Only 1 pillow, which is common
