The stay was warm, homely, and a rare chance to meet and talk with others. These days, stays feel impersonal and sterile, but we had a special time here, full of heart and the best meal we had in Rye. The breakfast in the beautiful central kitchen was outstanding. The location is excellent too. Our host was wonderful and we will return.

The room was cozy and the whole house had a lovely vibe on its cobbled street. The host was delightful, ready to help with anything we might need and happy to do so! Her breakfast was definitely a highlight, freshly made to our taste and served in the small garden. Absolutely delicious.

The location was excellent – in the center of town. The room was large, with a very comfortable king‑size bed and an attached bathroom. Rachael, our host, could not have been more charming and helpful. Each morning we had a delicious cooked breakfast with tea or coffee, fruit juice, and fresh bread. There was nothing I didn’t like about our stay. However, for those who care about such things, there is no TV in the room. Also, there is a community hall next door which is overlooked by the room we stayed in. On the night we arrived, a youth club was using the hall.

The house is stunning and steeped in history, and Rachel, the host, was wonderful. Every day the breakfast ingredients were freshly bought, making for a fabulous meal. The location is great, though I wish there were two keys instead of just one.

We took a spontaneous trip to Rye with our 11‑week‑old son for our first getaway, and the Hotel with Two Front Doors was spot on. It’s full of character, in an excellent spot, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of home comforts. Rachel was a thoughtful host and a lovely person; she even gave our baby a cuddle so we could enjoy the super yummy breakfast. It wasn’t easy traveling with a newborn for the first time, but Rachel and the hotel made it feel like a real holiday.
